2nd Annual World Wide Knit in Public Day Mystery Knit-A-Long!!
What's more fun than a knitting scavenger hunt? A knitting scavenger hunt that you can share with your friends while knitting in public all over town!
For the second year in a row, I'll be hiding the clues around the internet throughout the day on World Wide Knit In Public Day 2017 (June 10, 2017). I'll send out the update with the Basic Pattern on Friday, June 9th at 12:01 AM CST so that you can start your project and get ready to knit the clues during the day on Saturday. Clues can be found in the following Yumi Yarns locations:
- Clue 1 will be available at YumiYarns.com at 7:00 AM CST
- Clue 2 will be available on Instagram at 9:30 AM CST
- Clue 3 will be available on Twitter at Noon CST
- Clue 4 will be available on Facebook at 2:30 PM CST
The full pattern will be released on Sunday, June 11th so if you miss a clue or would just like a concise write-out to work from, it will be available for you then. The pattern also goes up to the full price of $4.99 at that point, currently I'm offering it at $1.99 so pop over to Ravelry and get your copy today!
This year's pattern is a highly textured scarf/stole and instructions are included for 1 or 2 color versions. There are an endless variety of options possible for this mix-and-match pattern and you can use any yarns that you like to truly make it your own. I've included the yarns that I used for my sample piece, but feel free to use this as a stash-busting project by throwing in whatever yarns you want so you can create a really colorful and fun, lightweight scarf/stole.
If you are in the Sioux Falls, SD area, please join us for our local WWKIPD MKAL activities! You can get your pattern pieces by joining the group as we travel around Downtown Sioux Falls knitting in public. We'll be at the following locations:
* 7:00 AM - Queen City Bakery
* 9:30 AM - Josiah's Coffeehouse
* Noon - Falls Overlook Cafe
* 2:30 PM - Athena Fibers
I hope to see you all out enjoying the weather and your knitting this weekend! Please feel free to share pics in the YumiYarnies Ravelry group, I'd love to see what everyone does to enjoy the day.
