“…to sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment.”
- Fanny (Mansfield Park by Jane Austen)

Add some lovely wool & needles to Fanny’s recommendation & you have the perfect afternoon! The English Garden Wrap was inspired by the carefully tended flower beds and walking paths from Jane Austen’s time. Daisy and Garter stitches combine with large needles to create a simple and refreshing wrap knit on the bias in a lovely, flowing fabric.

The wrap is worked corner to corner to create the points & will work best with solid, semi-solid, tonal or speckled yarns. A highly variegated yarn would work well for the Garter-Stitch sections (MC), but I would stick with something more subtle for the Daisy-stitch parts (CC). Lavender Lune’s gorgeous hand-dyed colorways work perfectly in this pattern & her Singles base creates an absolutely gorgeous fabric when knit at this larger gauge.
