I'm so super excited to finally get to share this fun pattern with you today! Club Yumi subscribers received their Ice Cream and Magic kits in the mail last month before I went on my trip so you may have seen posts about it already, but having an official launch is just so much fun. I only have a few of these kits left, are you guys ready for some summer?

This fun cowl utilizes planned pooling to magically make the colors from the hand-dyed yarn line-up exactly the way that you want... Without swatching. You heard correctly, no swatching and no matching the designer's gauge (unless for some reason you really want to). And because you really do need some delicious ice cream to go along with this knitting magic, I suggest using the very dreamsicle-esqe Good Vibrations colorway from Three Irish Girls to make your cowl and spread happiness everywhere you go!
The body of the cowl is knit in the Waffle Cone Lace stitch pattern and is finished with a simple picot edge on either side. This pattern does use a provisional cast-on and I highly recommend using the crochet hook method for this as it lends itself very nicely to the techniques used to begin your cowl without making a gauge swatch.
1 Skein of Three Irish Girls Adorn Luxe in the Good Vibrations colorway
1 Printed Copy of the Magic and Ice Cream Knitting Pattern
1 Digital Copy of the Magic and Ice Cream Knitting Pattern
Other Materials Needed:
US Size 3 (3.25 mm) needles
US 3 (3.25mm) DPNs (or second circular needle), or size to obtain gauge
Curious about that adorable unicorn in the photos?
That little guy is the free gift that is included with the Club Yumi Subscription kits this month and he's sure to bring some extra magic (and cuteness!) to your knitting projects. He's handmade by my friend, Jensen Reyes (aka: Truffleshuffler), and is sold individually in her etsy shop: Truffle's Shuffle. She has lots of super adorable creations (including magical unicorn poop!) and is one of the nicest people that I know. Please pop by her shop and check out all the amazing things that she's making with polymer clay.
This month's kit is only $30 and I've just got a small handful left, so grab yours before they're all sold out! (Remember, I don't restock the kits once they're gone.) If you feel like you have enough yarn and are just interested in the pattern, you can pre-order it from my Ravelry shop for just $4.99 instead. The pattern only option will be sent out on August 1st, 2017 so you do have a few weeks still to wait before you can cast-on. If you're doing Tour de Fleece, this is would be a great reward for all that hard work you've been putting in on the wheel this month. Even if you knit it with a non-gradient, this cowl is a pretty addictive knit and would look amazing in some freshly minted hand-spun. (*nudge nudge*) Just click the button below to pre-order the pattern.
I hope that you all are having a great week and that you're just as excited for this kit and pattern as I am. I really love this yarn from the wonderful gals over at 3IG and I hope that you do too!
