Impressionist's Gala Wrap Kit

Ziggidy Pop knitted cowl pattern

Hello!

This week I'm announcing this month's Club Yumi Kit, the Impressionist's Gala Wrap!

This pattern is currently only available as a part of the Impressionist's Gala Wrap kits that were sent to subscribers and that I've stocked in the YumiYarns shop. If you'd like an e-mail reminder when the individual pattern is released on May 1st, please subscribe to my e-mail newsletter using the form at the bottom of this page.

Tagetes Shawlette

Just like in Monet’s Waterlillies, dappled pools of light alternating with subtle ripples are the basis of this lovely bias-knit wrap. The scarf size is just right for throwing on with a light jacket while the larger wrap provides a luxurious covering whether you’re attending an event or just knitting at home in your chair. (The kits include enough yarn for a scarf, but extra skeins are available if you would like to order more to knit the full 3-skein wrap.)

Impressionist's Gala Wrap Knitting Kit

The patterning shifts between dropped-stitch cables (pools of light) and purl ridges (subtle ripples) so you’ll never get bored with the knitting. If you haven’t made dropped-stitch cables, don’t worry, they are much easier than they seem and the knitting goes really quickly with them. The entire scarf/wrap is bordered by a garter-stitch edging to provide an even finish with plenty of stretch.

My lovely test/sample knitter says that she enjoyed working this pattern because it wasn't so hard that it stressed her out, but required enough concentration to distract her a bit when she needed a bit of a distraction. It makes me so incredibly happy that she loved working on it so much & I hope that you all enjoy it just as much!

This kit features an ultra luxurious yarn that's been custom dyed for us by Tara at The Dyeing Arts. It's her Delight base which is 50% Baby Camel & 50% Silk dyed in the Monet's Pond colorway. (It's so buttery soft & has such amazing drape, you're gonna fall hard for this one!) The yarn itself is more of a tan color which gives the finished yarn a beautiful depth of color and (to my eyes at least) almost makes it look like the dye has been drawn onto it with a marker. Tara is well known for her vivid colorways and her brilliant color sense so I couldn't have been happier to get to partner with her on these kits!

A meat market isn't the first place that you would look for fine chocolates, especially ones that look like they could have been from a french patisserie. Adam has been perfecting his chocolate work behind the scenes and when the market started selling these gems in the store, I knew that they had to be featured in a kit. This sampler trio was sent out to Club Yumi Subscribers & it contains (from left to right) Earl Grey, Stawberry and Peanut Butter flavored truffles. I can personally attest to the absolute deliciousness and beauty of each one of these delightful morsels & I know that you'll enjoy them just as much as I have!

There are just a few of these guys left over and I've added them into the Crafter Treats section of the Shop. Buy the set individually or get a set of chocolates free when you buy any 2 skeins of yarn (either individual or as a kit) while supplies last.

Impressionist's Gala Wrap Kit

In case you were curious, each kit that went out this month included:

  • 1 - 400 yd skein of The Dyeing Arts' Delight in Monet's Pond (50% Baby Camel / 50% Silk, fingering weight)

  • 1 Printed Copy of the Impressionist's Gala Wrap Knitting Pattern

  • 1 Digital Copy of the Impressionist's Gala Wrap Knitting Pattern

  • 6 Gourmet Chocolate Truffles from Looks Market

I do have a few kits left in the shop so pop over if you would like to snag one for yourself before they're gone!

Across the Pond Knitting Kit Trio Pre-Order

If you're bummed that you missed your shot to get in on this round of kits, pop over to the Yumi Yarns Shop and snag a spot in the June-August 2018 trio of kits: Across the Pond! Spots are limited and I can't guarantee that there will be any remaining kits at the end of the pre-order so if you're thinking about signing up, I'd do so sooner rather than later.

Happy crafting,

Shaina ^_^
