Introducing Skein & Co.
There’s a quiet kind of magic in indie fiber.
It lives in small dye studios tucked into spare rooms and barns.
In carefully sourced fleece.
In skeins dyed in small batches, each one just a little different from the last.
It’s thoughtful. Personal. Rooted in real hands and real places.
And for a long time, it’s also been… a little hard to find.
Why We Started Skein & Co
Over the years—through designing, teaching, and working alongside other makers—I kept noticing the same thing:
So many incredibly talented indie dyers and small fiber businesses were doing beautiful work…but struggling to be seen.
Not because the work wasn’t good.But because the systems around them weren’t built with small makers in mind.
Relying on social media algorithms.
Trying to keep up with constant content demands.
Balancing creativity with the pressure to market, sell, and stay visible.
It can start to pull you away from the very thing you began with—making.
Skein & Co was created as a response to that.
Not to replace what already exists, but to offer something steadier.
A space where indie fiber can live and be discovered, without needing to fight for attention.
