I’m so excited to share that the Snapdragons Socks pattern has gotten a fresh new update for 2025 — just in time for summer knitting and travel season!
Inspired by one of my favorite cottage garden flowers, these shortie socks feature a delicate lace motif that mimics blooming snapdragons climbing up leafy stems. They’re lightweight, feminine, floral, and very travel-friendly — just the kind of project you can toss in your bag for road trips, weekend getaways, or afternoons on the porch.
What’s New in the Updated Pattern?
While the original design (published in 2021) was a favorite for many knitters, I wanted to give it a glow-up that reflects how you actually knit today — with clear, flexible instructions and thoughtful tools to support your process.
Here’s what’s new:
✨ Updated layout for easier reading on all devices
🧶 Separated Cuff-Down and Toe-Up instructions for clarity
📏 Size chart + schematic for confident customization
📚 Linked tutorials & pattern support page to guide you
🧵 Fresh styling and photos that reflect the floral, romantic vibe of the socks
Whether you knit one pair or three, this is the kind of pattern you’ll come back to again and again — it’s easy to memorize, quick to work up, and surprisingly elegant on the needles.
A Great Summer Knit
Shortie socks are a summer staple in my knitting rotation — they’re small, satisfying, and keep your hands busy without overheating your lap. The Snapdragons Socks are especially perfect for this time of year because the lace breathes beautifully and the floral motif just feels right in warm weather.
You can knit them in a classic tonal yarn for stitch definition, or play with subtle speckles for a cottagecore vibe.
Ready to Cast On?
The updated Snapdragons Socks pattern is available now on Ravelry and YumiYarns.com, and includes three adult sizes (1–3) with lots of built-in stretch for the perfect fit. It’s beginner-friendly but engaging enough to keep you interested — the perfect balance for summer knitting.
Happy knitting, and thank you for supporting independent designers!
