A little sister to the Field Lines Shawl is coming to life, and I'd love your help bringing it across the finish line.
Soft Days is a simple kerchief-style headscarf inspired by one of the textured slip-stitch patterns from the Field Lines Shawl. Designed to use just one skein of fingering-weight yarn, it's a small, approachable project that's perfect for cool mornings, breezy afternoons, and those first hints of autumn.
And if you've already knit Field Lines, this is a lovely way to give some of those beautiful leftovers a second life.
I'm looking for a small group of test knitters to knit Soft Days from the draft pattern, check the instructions, and share thoughtful feedback before the pattern is released.
What you’ll do:
Knit the Soft Days Headscarf from the test pattern.
Check the instructions for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
Let me know about any questions, confusing sections, or errors you encounter.
Complete your headscarf within the testing timeline.
Provide feedback by the deadline.
Share 1–2 photos of your WIP and/or finished headscarf that I may use for pattern promotion, with credit given to you.
You don't need to be an expert knitter or have a large social media following. I'm much more interested in thoughtful feedback, careful knitting, and a willingness to communicate throughout the test.

Yarn:
Soft Days is designed for fingering-weight yarn, using approximately one skein.
The original sample is being knit with naturally dyed fingering-weight yarn from Dresow Family Farm, the small Minnesota fiber farm whose beautiful Cormo yarn inspired the Field Lines Shawl.
For the test knit, you are welcome—and encouraged—to use another fingering-weight yarn from your stash. I'd love to see how this little design looks in different fibers, colors, and yarns.
And if you have leftover yarn from your Field Lines Shawl, this is the perfect project for it!

Because this is a relatively small project, the test period is just two weeks. That should give most knitters plenty of time to complete the headscarf, but please take a look at your calendar before applying and make sure you'll have time to finish and provide feedback by August 26.
The release date is intentionally listed as early September while I work through testing and final edits. I'll announce the exact release date once the pattern is ready.
A Note About Photos:
I'd love to see your Soft Days in progress and finished, but you don't need professional photography or a large social media following to participate.
Natural light and a simple photo of your finished headscarf are perfect. If you're comfortable sharing your project on Instagram or Ravelry, that's wonderful, but it isn't a requirement for being selected as a tester.
