Use code: Summertime to take 25% off this pattern from now through July 12th! El Verano in Spanish means, “the Summer”, and these lacey shortie socks embody the season! Greenery in the garden and ripples in the pool inspired this month’s pattern. A panel of doubled leaves follows the outside of each foot while a 1/1 twisted cable creates a stretchy ribbing across the rest of the instep & the cuff. Merino y Vino has an amazing talent for keeping her sparkle base super sparkly but if glitz isn’t your thing, these socks would still look lovely on her non-sparkle base as well. Keep in mind that since these are shortie socks, you’ll actually be able to make 2 pairs from a single skein so you can make a pair for yourself & one for a friend. This shortie sock pattern includes variations for both toe-up and cuff-down options and features a short-row heel along with a standard wedge toe, but feel free to substitute your favorites as needed. This pattern is written for 6 sizes: Baby – Adult Large.

The needle size listed is the needle size I regularly use, but I am a very loose knitter so you may need to go up 1-2 needle sizes to get a fabric that you like. Most knitters do well with US size 2 (2.75 mm) & if you are a tight or newer knitter you may want to try a US size 3 (3.25 mm). If you know your standard needle size for sock knitting, use that instead of what I have listed (the size that gives you gauge).
Make sure that your beginning of round marker is different from your other markers so you can tell the difference. Locking markers are recommended .
