Video Tutorial: Making an I-Cord (NOT an I-Cord Cast-On)!

Step by Step 1/1 LslT RS (Left-slip-Twist) Knitting Tutorial

Hello!

Learn how and why to make i-cord in this week's YouTube tutorial.

This is a simple technique for making a knitted cord, known as I-Cord. I also share my feelings about the benefits (and problems) of using an i-cord cast-on versus just making an i-cord and picking up the stitches you need for your project. If you have any questions, you can always email me directly: shaina@yumiyarns.com

Have fun & happy knitting!

Shaina ^_^

Supplies:

  • Yarn

  • Scissors

  • Circular or Double Pointed Needles Appropriate for the Yarn

Step 1:

Cast-on 3-4 stitches.

Step 2:

Slide the stitches across the needle so that they're ready to be knit again. (The yarn will be coming off the stitch that is farthest from the tip of the needle.)

Step 3:

Knit across all stitches.

Continuation:

Repeat Steps 2 & 3 until the cord is as long as you want/need.

That's it!

Now you can make your very own knitted cord!
